The wooden sculpture of the St Jerome, hand-carved 7by the Baroque sculptor Heinrich Michael Löhr (c. 1700 – after 1761). The sculpture depicts a half-naked male figure standing in an S-composition. Leaning on his left leg, while his head is gently tilted and turned to his left, creating a contrapposto stance. Flowing drapery hangs over his left shoulder, wraps around his waist, and hangs down to below his left knee. His bare feet are visible below the drapery. At thigh level, he is holding his pleated robes in his right hand, exposing his right leg. His left arm is slightly raised and bent at the elbow, with his hand on his chest. There is a gold belt stretching from the drapery on his right upper arm, falling down to his waist. He has a long curly beard and hair. The figure is standing on a polygonal plinth. The sculpture was originally crafted for St Peter's Parish Church in Ljubljana. It was later moved to the Diocesan Museum, and to the National Gallery of Slovenia between 1931 and 1934. The artist made the sculpture of St Donatus for the same church.
