The wooden polychrome sculpture of St. John the Evangelist was hand-carved by an unknown Baroque author (Franciscan carving workshop) in the first half of the 18th century. The sculpture depicts a male figure leaning on his left leg, with the right leg slightly bent and the right foot turned outward to the right. The head is slightly tilted upward and to the right. His right arm is bent at the elbow with the hand resting on his chest. His left arm is also bent at the elbow, positioned at waist level, with the left hand holding his cape. He has shoulder-length, light brown, curly hair that frames the face. A light red pigment is used to emphasize the lips. He is wearing a green dress and a voluminous cape which is blue on the outside, and red on the inside. The sculpture is standing on a square wooden plinth. The sculpture probably originated from the Franciscan monastery in Kamnik. The sculpture of Mother of God was part of the same altar.
